Reporting to the Associate Director, Risk Services, the Global Travel Specialist/Analyst will facilitate development of, and then implement, campuswide policies, programs, and procedures associated with the safety of UC Santa Cruz students, faculty, staff, and related parties traveling domestically or abroad for study or university business. The selected candidate will be the campus subject matter expert on all matters related to travel safety and security, and will engage in outreach to promote, advise and train on health, safety and security overseas. The Global Travel Specialist/Analyst will also provide risk management guidance on a consultative basis for trips and programs abroad.
The Global Travel Specialist/Analyst will work with campus units to implement the emergency response plan for their programs abroad and/or will coordinate actions with private service providers in collaboration with campus and UC Office of the President leadership in the event of health, safety or security crises abroad. Duties also include maintaining data and information about rapidly changing safety and security threats, travel, insurance programs and crises incidents involving the UC Santa Cruz community outside the United States.
Risk Services is part of the UC Santa Cruz Business and Administrative Services (BAS) division and is one of five departments that comprise the Risk and Safety Services unit. Risk Services supports the campus by helping to identify risk exposures, recommending strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks, and administering the campus's insurance programs to facilitate maximum recovery from accidental losses.
