The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Office of Communications & Public Affairs is currently recruiting for a Web Developer/Content Strategist . The Web Developer/Content Strategist is responsible for front-end design, development, and implementation of websites to meet the needs of the University. The developer/strategist will also be responsible for the content strategy and creation of content on UMB websites.

Uses the University Content Management System (CMS) to update web pages.
Improves the information architecture by studying the site concept, strategy, and target audience.
Creates wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction design ideas.
Develops and continues to refine website content strategy to ensure the website content aligns with system priorities.
Understands the University brand and objectives and applies these goals to the planning, creation, and maintenance of content.
Adapts language and style to reflect audience-specific voice and tone.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors in Information Technology, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Graphic Design or a related field.
Equivalent of four (4) years combination of formal information systems & web education/training and/or web experience and knowledge of at least one (1) structured programming languages and relational database management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask on multiple, simultaneous projects.
Knowledge and understanding of web content best practices.
Experience with creating content for different target audiences.
Familiarity with the concept of responsive design and experience designing for mobile platforms including tablets and smart phones.
Ability to write design briefs and case studies explaining concept, target.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a plus.
