Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Credit Card Account Management Execution team is responsible for generating lists of customers to receive changes to their credit card. The changes are dictated upstream by the Strategy Team via complex business requirements. This Consumer Credit Senior Associate will work with the Strategy team member to understand the context of the business goals and translate them into SQL/SAS code. The code must be run on schedule, and the resulting list delivered to downstream business partners. The Associate will understand big picture goals in a complex environment, and will independently catch minor coding errors and communicate nuanced unintended consequences. A strong knowledge of data manipulation and data mining in SAS is essential.
Develop, test, implement, and audit new strategy SAS code and processes
Develop, audit, and maintain documentation including flow charts, operating procedures, and task plans
Modify, audit, and maintain production strategy code when changes occur
Develop strong partnerships with strategy development, product, marketing, finance, and other production partners
Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual strategy performance reports for senior management
Review and analyze trends in current customer population and recommend strategies
Create documentation for test setup, audits, and processes
Determine impact of strategies including development of loss forecasts
Perform analysis to develop Credit Card strategies that maximize profits and/or asset growth and minimize credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures
Develop portfolio strategies that could include complex data knowledge, extraction, manipulation, reporting, segmentation, decision tree analysis, strategy analysis, and validation
Create and present strategy decks to a wide audience including senior management
Represent risk team independently at strategy meetings and lead strategy discussions
5+ years of experience in risk role
5+ years of SAS experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
3+ years of reporting experience
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
5 + years of experience with computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Cognos or Tableau
Knowledge and understanding of databases and data mining techniques
Other Desired Qualifications
Experience in statistical modeling/segmentation analysis
Experience in credit card portfolio risk management strategy development
Experience with SAS Viya – Intelligent Decisioning & Data Preparation
Experience with Python and/or R
