Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo's more than 70 million global customers.
The Fraud Prevention and Authentication team offers technology services to protect Well Fargo customers from fraud events caused by malicious entities inside and outside the bank. We are the frontline defense for customer authentication to Wells Fargo websites and mobile products. The team is comprised of pre-authentication, authentication and post-authentication resources.
The Fraud Prevention & Authentication team is seeking a highly-talented and motivated individual to help us build detection agents to identify attack traffic against Well Fargo customer authentication web sites. The qualified candidate will help to augment the existing Account Validator Assessor (AVA) application by discovering new ways to identify attack traffic. Account Validation (AV) is a tremendous ongoing battle with fraudsters. AV is process where malicious users or BOTS attempt to gain information about potential user lists they have acquired. Their goal is to narrow the list to valid Wells Fargo accounts. AVA was designed internally to help detect AV activity and prevent the attackers from gaining any information about the data they have.
The position requires a seasoned professional with the ability to identify potential data features allowing for detection of negative traffic. The primary role for this position is to build and deploy detection applications or agents for the AVA system. The role will require for an individual to assess the available data, design a detection mechanism and construct a production application to employ the detection capabilities. Acting as both a data scientist and software engineer, the position will utilize core Java, Python, ML/DL and software security skills.
If you are a software engineer looking to step up your game and show off your data analytics skills, coupled with a strong background in development, this team is for you. Our team strives to stay on top of the latest technology trends, allowing you to grow your skills along with industry trends. We never have a dull moment. The attackers are very persistent and keep adjusting their attack strategies to circumvent our defensive measures. As a part of this team you will be asked to find new ways to stop these threats quickly along with high accuracy.
We have a close-knit team all working together in Charlotte. This allows us to have face-to-face design sessions and learn from each other. We also have local retreats a couple of times a year (on-site away from our desks), to brainstorm and come up with new detection strategies and review the latest technology available to us. If you are a progressive, self-starter willing to look into the latest technology trends, then this team is for you.
