The Wealth Investments application delivery team within the Wealth & Investment Management Technology (WIMT) group is looking for a Application Systems Engineer to build, configure and support securities trading and analytic systems for the Wealth Investments team.
The successful candidate will provide analysis, configuration and support for the Charles River Investment Management and Trading platform. Ongoing configuration enhancement of business workflows in the Charles River (CRD) platform is a primary focus of this position. Support for line of business activities, including compliance set-up and large trade events is also a critical expectation. The Application Systems Engineer also serves as a key point of contact for issue reporting and resolves break/fix and performs application management activities including BCP application representative, SDLC & ERM activities, technical refresh support, critical surveys, analysis, platform releases, patching, vulnerabilities; and system management support for EIT mandates. This position also supports critical safety and soundness deliverables.
7+ years of application development and implementation experience
A BS/BA degree or higher
4+ years of trading systems development or implementation experience
2+ years of relational database experience
4+ years of experience supporting trading systems, applications or platforms
2+ years of experience with configuration, administration or batch processing of Charles River (CRD) platform
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of equity and fixed income trading
Knowledge and understanding of investment, investment management, securities markets, trading, and model based portfolio management
Scripting and automation experience
Knowledge and understanding of Autosys
Knowledge and understanding of Oracle
Knowledge and understanding of PL/SQL
Knowledge and understanding of UNIX
Knowledge and understanding of Java
Other Desired Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the securities trading lifecycle for various asset types
Understanding of pre and post-trade compliance
Experience with Custody Platforms and associated operations is a plus
Strong and effective technical problem-solving skills including research and diagnostic skills
Experience working with offshore team members
Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies
Ability to work cohesively and collaborate with analytic functions throughout the organization
Ability to drive the requirements process with both technical and business partners
Knowledge and understanding of SQL
Microsoft Visio experience
