The Development Director will cultivate, steward, and expand relationships between the organization and its donors by developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies. The primary focus of this position is to grow revenue through donations and sponsorships received from individual and beneficial corporate donors to support the organization's annual operating campaign. The Development Director will supervise one Development Manager, be a key part of the Leadership Team, and report directly to the Executive Director.
Job responsibilities include:
Manage Individual Giving Plan
Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development Manager to create and implement stewardship strategies to engage individual donors.
Work closely with the Development Manager to produce inspiring donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship-related documents including but not limited to e-newsletters, bi-annual appeal letters, funding proposals, presentations, and donor impact reports.
Keep accurate records using Bloomerang (CRM database) by creating and maintaining donor profiles, processing donations, and preparing acknowledgement letters in a timely manner; and creating database reports to analyze donors' giving patterns and create target lists for engaging donors.
Manage Corporate Giving Plan
Strategically secure funds outside of the annual operating campaign through corporate sponsorships, events, and projects for community impact initiatives.
Discover donors' companies' corporate social responsibility and/or workplace giving objectives, identify opportunities that align with our agency's goals, and work with staff to create engagement initiatives and opportunities.
Manage Fundraising Events
Plan and coordinate the agency's annual fundraising event by overseeing goals, budgets, timelines, and internal and external resources to ensure maximum results.
Establish roles and responsibilities for the agency team working at the event; and measure, analyze, and report event progress and results.
Coordinate and spearhead year-round identification and solicitation of prospects for fundraising event sponsorship, in-kind goods and services, and outright contributions in order to maximize net proceeds and meet annual revenue goals.

Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, internal staff, volunteers, donors, executives, and potential funding partners.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Bloomerang or a similar CRM database.
A minimum of 5 years of paid work experience in a fundraising role at a non-profit organization, or comparable experience. Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends, and flexible hours.
Additional Salary Information: $60,000 - $65,000 annually plus benefits including medical, dental, and life insurance, and paid vacation. Travel/Mileage reimbursed at IRS determined rate.
