Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features using a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to end users. Provides expertise regarding the integration of application across the university. Provides technical leadership on complex projects. Determines the specifications, then plans, designs and develops the most complex university critical software solutions utilizing the appropriate software engineering process; either individually or leading a team. Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. Has in depth knowledge of state of the art programming languages and object oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies. Responsibilities also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and build versus buy recommendations. Requires in depth knowledge across multiple environments and possesses increased level of business knowledge. Provides leadership and sets technical direction for less experienced programmer/analysts.
