The Senior Manager Custom Applications Infrastructure shall be responsible for:
Providing extensive technical oversight as it relates to architecture, development, DevOps, integration and support for an extensive portfolio of custom applications, web and application deployment platforms and HL7 integrations within the hospital's information system.
Setting the strategic direction of the Hospital's custom applications technology layers. This strategy will include technologies and infrastructure consistent with current industry development practices.
Directly managing teams that are responsible for the architecture, design, development, deployment and support for highly complex in-house and/or commercially developed software and applications.
Assessing, planning and prioritizing application development projects, integrations and enhancements in accordance with the needs of the Hospital Community and IT Executive leadership.
Overseeing the evolution of all development tools, tool chains and associated platforms to support the development of complex software applications, services and interfaces that comprise the Hospitals complex IT infrastructure.
Staying abreast of research and development in the Technology / Information Systems industries, including but not limited to software architecture, design concepts, evolving industry trends and technology.
In order to qualify you must have:
Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field and at least 10 years' of management experience.
Strong knowledge of the JEE platform and APIs (JPA, JAX-RS, JTA, JMS, EJB3, CDI) ,Java-based web and UI application frameworks within the JEE environment, Services development and related technologies (Fuse, Camel, Karaf, ESB, SOA, REST)
Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies and operations (AWS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, JBoss EAP, CI/CD), Clustered deployment and related network topologies, Application security technologies (SAML2, JWT, OAuth), Software Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Pattern, Agile Software Development Processes
Familiarity with healthcare language interfaces (HL7, Corepoint)
Direct, in-depth experience in developing interdepartmental relationships, proven ability to work collaboratively and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Must also possess excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple teams simultaneously and being a strong proactive team player within a management team.
