The Senior Manager Custom Application Development shall be responsible for:
Providing management and technical oversight for multiple software development teams engaged in the development and maintenance of an extensive portfolio of custom applications, web portals and application integrations within the hospital's information systems.
Assist in defining and implementing the strategic direction of the Hospital's custom applications technology layers. This strategy will include technologies, infrastructure and frameworks consistent with our Enterprise Architecture standards and current industry development practices.
Assessing, planning, prioritizing and generating effort estimates for all custom application development projects, integrations and enhancements in accordance with the needs of the Hospital Community and IT Executive leadership.
Staying abreast of research and development in the Technology / Information Systems industries, including but not limited to software architecture, design concepts, evolving industry trends and technology.
In order to qualify you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field and at least 10 years' of management experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple teams simultaneously and being a strong proactive team player within a management team.
Strong knowledge of the following:
JEE platform and APIs (JPA, JAX-RS, JTA, JMS, EJB3, CDI).
Java-based web and UI application frameworks within the JEE environment.
Services development and related technologies (Fuse, Camel, Karaf, ESB, SOA, REST).
Software Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns.
Agile Software Development Processes.
Direct, in-depth experience in developing interdepartmental relationships, proven ability to work collaboratively and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Must also possess excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
