Bank of America is looking for a risk analysis specialist in the Critical Use Spreadsheet Validation team. The group is a multi-national team within Enterprise Model Risk Management primarily based in Charlotte. It covers all aspects of Critical Use Spreadsheet validation for the company to ensure that Critical use spreadsheets meet the requirements of the Spreadsheet Control policy.
Candidate will work primarily with the CFO and the Global Risk management groups. Responsibilities include:
Validate Stress Testing, Liquidity, Pricing and Valuation Spreadsheets to ensure they meet the requirements of the Spreadsheet policy. This validation will encompasses the review of the underlying controls, data transformation and design of the spreadsheet being validated Identify/quantify risks associated with the spreadsheet being validated
Prepare validation report and communicate results of the validation to the FLU/spreadsheet owner Maintain a sub-portfolio of spreadsheet inventory and perform re-reviews, Required Actions Items closure Develop and or interpret enterprise policy, guidelines and supplemental documents Tracking and management of various project initiatives in managing change and driving change through technology solutions Develop and maintain relationships across a complex enterprise wide structure in order to effectively communicate key issues and influence risk mitigation
Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant technical field; e.g. accounting, economics, finance or other business degree
3-5 years of Risk Management experience working for a financial services firm
Expert MS excel knowledge and solid analytical skills are required
Programming experience with R, Alteryx, SAS, Python, SQL, and/or Access is a plus
Well organized, team-oriented and detail-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve goals in driving change. Ability to communicate trends and impacts to senior level management.
Enterprise Role Overview:
Responsible for performing more complex analysis and is engaged in the development of modeling that maximizes profits and asset growth and minimizes credit and operating losses and other risk exposures. Provides analytical support on various product strategies to ensure company goals are met. Coordinates the production of performance reports for Senior management. Reviews and analyzes trends in current population distributions and recommends strategies. May participate in or develop more complex program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modeling. Analyzes portfolio trends, concerning credit score cutoffs, loss trends, portfolio dynamics, and bureau scoring criteria. Will participate in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. . Integrates the analysis team with other corporate units to insure alignment of analysis with business strategies and objectives. Responsible for hiring and training Risk Analysis Specialist and Risk Analysis Analyst. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion and independent judgment. Programming experience such as SAS, SQL or Micro Strategy and Master's Degree or large data experience preferred. 3-5 years experience
