Strategic Risk Consulting is a global business within CRB that provides risk strategy advice on a consulting basis to large accounts in the major industries such as energy, aviation, healthcare and financial services. We use data, analytics and technology together with the market and specialist knowledge of our broking teams to optimize the risk transfer strategy of our clients.
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual in the Chicago area that draws upon the traditional P&C actuarial skills of commercial and specialty lines pricing. In addition to excellent technical and management competencies, outstanding communication skills are even more critical for this role than for most traditional actuarial roles. The role will co-ordinate market pricing with brokers and discuss insurance structures, as well as communicate results to clients and their senior management. The team reporting to the role will be expanded over time, so the role will need to hire and manage actuarial staff.
Manage project teams to ensure delivery of analytical projects within agreed timelines
Reviewing client communications, including reports and other correspondence
Presenting results to colleagues and clients
Training, development and mentoring of actuarial analysts
Custom analytics consulting sales and client management for SRC in the Mid-West

FCAS or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field
7-10 years of actuarial experience in commercial / specialty pricing
At least 2 years of management experience with proven record of managing 2-10 actuarial staff
Detail-oriented and enjoys technical modeling work
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, plus a high level of general computer literacy
Predictive or stochastic modeling experience, especially for insurance pricing or reserving
Experience with simulation software or other statistical modeling
Very strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously and work well in a team environment
Enthusiastic about job performance
High energy level and intellectual curiosity
Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and find creative solutions
