Our IT department is currently seeking an an experienced IT Architect. This candidate will support IT Life and IT Financials departments.
Be ready to:
collaborate, influence, communicate, and lead
align technology to deliver the capabilities / services that the business really needs
enhance understanding in the Enterprise workings (teach / educate / keep everyone in sync with our direction)
partner with Service Managers to align target state direction with service area portfolios (current state / target state / roadmaps / communication plans)
work strategic direction into the projects and service work
Be equipped with:
create and maintain architectural documentation as prescribed by COMET – SAD, IPAC, for ETS
design architectural solutions that support the enterprise\strategic perspectives and EA strategies Manage the technical complexity of the Service Area; resulting in simplification of the local environment
confer with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze requirements
enforce the standards and technologies to enable system(s) Usability, Reliability, Performance, Supportability
select and guide implementation of optimal technical solutions considering functional/non-functional requirements, cost, and risk
negotiate Business and IT trade-offs with stakeholders
support assigned Service area through area specific product and tool knowledge, production support triage, 3rd tier production support
understand and articulate the five interrelated facets of the ACORD Framework to include the Business Dictionary, Capability Model, Information Model, Data Model and Component Model
work with two or more languages or platforms – move to .NET, and seamless move to Java in 2015 to ECS
create and implement strategic and tactical visions within assigned service area –
conduct research on emerging technologies
assist and identify technical resource needs for project initiatives
participate in technical interviews
communicate strategic and tactical visions that are understandable and actionable to diverse audiences
act as a change agent for assigned service area through dialogue rather than direct authority
Senior Architect Responsibilities:
leverage IT Project Dashboard for projects that can be utilized to satisfy strategic initiatives
monitor proposed and existing system(s) architectures for organizational goal alignment
manage the technical complexity of the Enterprise; resulting in the simplification of the Enterprise environment
present proposals and recommendations to the IT Architecture Team and to IT Senior Leadership
create and implement strategic and tactical visions within and across Service Domains
provide architectural vision for developing and implementing enterprise architecture initiatives that improve IT cost effectiveness, service quality and business development
serve in a senior advisory/consultative role for major IT projects, to ensure consistent and pragmatic designs and implementations are in accordance with CIC standards and guidelines
enforce corporate-wide standards for architecture, security, application design, data design, development, technology and deployment
lead and conduct architecture reviews
technical Lead on two or more systems
work with a wide range of hardware/software products
responsible for two or more architectures and major product technologies
train/mentor less experienced architects
manage responsibilities for two pillars of architecture
a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Development, or equivalent experience required
