The Loan Verification Analyst 2 will be part of the Foreclosure Document Execution Team.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Assembles, creates, executes, and/or reviews loan documentation and associated reference source data and materials for purposes of verifying and preparing information and decisions in support of a variety of legal proceedings, including foreclosures.
Work entails an understanding of a wide variety of both loan documentation and legal instruments and typically requires preparation of very complex and lengthy formats and documents.
Reads, interprets, and researches correspondence and legal documents including summons, subpoenas, liens and foreclosures, mortgages, deeds of trust, promissory notes, assignments of mortgage and allonges and endorsements, plat maps and/or surveys to determine specific issues and/or course of action.
Typically performs calculations to validate principal, interest, escrow, etc.
May conduct online research to supplement information required for assessment.
Typically creates adhoc and, at times, complex correspondence and maintains key information related to the review process.
Works with a variety of partners, including internal and third party attorneys and associated staff members, consultants, and multiple team members throughout the servicing and default organizations.
May be called upon to testify to the legitimacy of the documents and review processes via deposition.
Role requires that team member serve and sign as an officer of the company.
*Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm. Individuals will work an 8 hour shift between these hours based on prior approval. Ability to work additional hours based on business need. This position will be required to be present on campus in Fort Mill, SC.
*Targeted Training Start Dates: January 11, 18 and 25, 2021. Candidates will be required to attend the full duration of training.
2+ years of administrative experience, office experience, or a combination of both demonstrated through work or military experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher and 6+ months of experience in the foregoing
Experience reading, understanding, interpreting, and researching loan origination, legal, or real estate documents
Experience managing a pipeline of work from assignment to completion with attention to detail under tight deadlines
Complex problem analysis and resolution skills
Knowledge and understanding of the importance of compliance and adherence to business/regulatory policies
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Other Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Mortgage Servicing, Legal or Foreclosure procedures
Current/Active Notary Public License for State of South Carolina
Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of MSP, ECAR, LoanSphere/Black Knight, FDC, ICMP, SHAW, WorkView, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint
This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
