We are currently seeking a Director of Business Development to join our group of dedicated and experienced professionals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Manages and coaches Account Executive team and acts as a marketing liaison between LCFL and referral sources by providing service information to physicians, assigned facility staff, patients and families and other providers of health care.
- Responsible for development and execution of growth strategy, referral partner relationships at the executive level, partnerships, and contracts, including ACOs and joint ventures.
- Develops and oversees execution of a strategic sales and marketing plan including tactics designed to meet budgeted admission goals.
- Takes initiative to develop and maintain relationships within the clinical department to assure effective communication both internally and externally for our referral customers.
- Assists in the development and management of annual budget for Business Development activities and performs monthly cost and productivity analysis; prepares monthly report for senior leadership team.
- Acts as a resource to physicians, patients/families, and assigned facility staff regarding awareness of service, end-of-life issues and palliative care
- Actively identifies barriers in the community, physician offices and facilities; takes an active role in solution/ resolutions by providing excellent customer service to all providers who influence referrals.
- Have a direct influence on census growth, length of stay and referrals from providers in assigned territory based on individual goals and strategies.
- Analyzes trends and patterns in referrals and admissions to identify needs and to develop marketing strategy.
- Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently.
- Maintains and adjusts schedule to enhance program performance.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with all members of the team.
- Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction.
- Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare on a daily basis.
Qualifications - Education: Degree in business, marketing or related field preferred.
- Licensure / Certifications: None
- Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in leadership capacity of leading sales managers or multiple sales teams demonstrating results; Five (5) years’ experience: preference in hospice or home care sales or experience in marketing, public affairs, community relations or hospital liaison nurse
- Essential Technical / Motor Skills: Ability to speak clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians and staff. Good command of the English language. Computer experience is helpful.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop positive interaction with patients, families, physicians and staff and other health professionals to effectively communicate and educate about hospice services and end-of-life care. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills be self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to move freely. Ability to work a full day and participate in occasional after hour events.
- Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Requires higher level of mental faculties accompanied by short and long-term memory and the ability to manage stressful situations
- Essential Sensory Requirements: Touch, sight, hearing, ability to organize thoughts, facts and ideas. Ability to translate the written word.
- Exposure to Hazards: Rare but possible exposure to patients and other situations, which present a potential threat to personal safety.
- Other - Hours of Work: Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Weekends, evening and early morning hours will be required from time to time. Flexibility with schedule required.
- Population Served: Physicians, Nursing Staff, Facility Administrators, Discharge planners, Social workers, other health professionals, insurance specialists, general public, community leaders, and all patient populations from infants through geriatric with life limiting illness.
- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
