Where the Chemistry Happens
The Global Performance Management team (APT/P) within BASF Crop Protection is an integral part of Global Operations. APT/P is responsible for defining, establishing, and reporting cost and efficiency related targets and KPIs for the global manufacturing plants within BASF's Crop Protection Division. APT/P enables intelligent and transparent financial decision making through conceptual analysis with a global focus as well as integration of global tools and systems.
The Global Performance Management Team is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, and enthusiastic candidate with excellent analytical and data management skills. In this role, you will report to the Head of Operational Excellence (Performance Management Americas) in RTP (North Carolina) and will provide financial expertise to support active ingredient and formulation manufacturing globally. Responsibilities include steering the target setting process, supporting the APT and all regional manufacturing strategies, modeling and analysis for predicting future cost developments, development and maintenance of the APT performance KPI's, investment and business case evaluations, and driving and supporting global performance improvement projects.
All activities require a mix of strategic and operational methodologies. However, a strong ability for conceptual, analytical, and strategic thinking is essential in this role. You must be able to apply a deep knowledge of financial concepts to the complex environment of manufacturing processes and within a multinational organization.
We will rely on your ability to develop new, original and creative solutions and capacity to plan many activities without direct interaction or direction from the Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your comfort with change management and your ability to identify process enhancement opportunities along the value chain of chemical manufacturing. You will also get to share your ability to influence and convince manufacturing colleagues at the various sites of the validity of stretch targets and goals.

Your strong sense of innovation and excellent knowledge of dynamic economic evaluation methods (NPV) will be essential as you drive innovation by developing modern reporting dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) to analyze and steer KPIs related to raw material consumption, cost of goods and capital expenditures.
Utilizing your background in controlling / finance with experience in manufacturing operations, you will support all functions within Global Operations in obtaining and analyzing financial and operational information for sound decision making.
Your ability to communicate and collaborate with international colleagues on the Global Operations team and with site controllers on four continents proven by a track record of international exposure will serve you well as you lead discussions across functions & regions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders within Global Operations and BASF central units (Global Technology, Procurement, Global Supply Chain, Global Marketing, Global Manufacturing).
