This Quality Improvement Data Analyst will be responsible for:

• Implementing, coordinating and supporting quality improvement (QI) projects in two multidisciplinary centers at Boston Children's Hospital: the Center for Advanced Intestinal Rehabilitation (CAIR) and the Center for Nutrition . These will include clinical QI, quality measurement and QI research projects, clinical practice workflow guideline initiatives, and risk management activities.
• Coordinating and documenting meetings and activities of developing projects and improvement initiatives within the ambulatory clinic and administrative operations to ensure project deliverables and deadlines are achieved.
• Analyzing indicators and compiling reports of performance indicators, providing trended data using statistical process control or other appropriate techniques ensuring that reports are timely, accurate, meaningful, and interpretable.
• Building and maintaining a valid, accurate data repository for annual program evaluation. Building and maintaining valid, accurate data dashboards for departmental and clinical staff to ensure availability of appropriate data for quality evaluation and improvement. Obtaining external data from third-party sources as appropriate for benchmark use.
• Providing guidance regarding data collection and basic statistical analyses on information patient surveys, electronic health records, hospital administrative databases, etc.

• The knowledge of theories, principles, and methods utilized in the development of quality improvement metrics health typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree, including coursework in biostatistics and data management. 1-2 years of related data experience in a health care-related setting or a related advanced degree is preferred.
• The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in-depth, experienced-based knowledge.
• The ability to work independently and function well in a team.
• Lean Six Sigma training or Institute of Healthcare Improvement certification preferred.
• Technical competency with Excel and Powerpoint. Familiarity with statistical analysis software (R, SAS), electronic health record systems, and/or quality improvement software (Sigma XL, SQC Pack) a plus.
