Responsible for various aspects of financial analysis within Financial Planning, which includes Budget & Financial Analysis, Revenue & Reimbursement, and Decision Support areas. Responsible for a wide range of tasks related to use, development and maintenance of computer applications in these various areas including MPC, PeopleSoft, and TSI. Provides assistance to management and administrative personnel through the extrapolation, interpretation and summarization of data for strategic business purposes.

- Prepares analyses and journal entries, as required, to support the monthly general ledger closing process and annual budget development process.Â
- Works with IT and other pertinent departments to research and resolve data discrepancies.
- Assists with the development of the annual financial and statistical operating budget for the Institute, preparation of regulatory reports, and procedure cost development updates.
- Assists with the development, implementation and operation of systems and processes to support the activities and goals of the Financial Planning (FP) department.
- Participates in the business process redesign and improvement of key functions and tasks within the Financial Planning department.
- Interaction with department managers and other Institute personnel at all levels to insure a complete understanding of any significant financial or statistical reporting, such as actual to budget variances and cost development.Â
- Understanding interdependences of processes and analyses and proposes ways to improve them.
- The ability to handle complex and multi-part analyses and prepare summaries of important points.Â
- Reporting variances and potential solutions to senior management.Â
- Preparation of detailed analytics for ad hoc reports and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably in the health care industry.Â
- Requires superior computer skills in MS Office applications, automated general ledger system, etc. PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred. MPC, IDX, Harvest and/or TSI experience, along with experience with data mining, relational databases, and SQL query tools is a plus.
- Must have superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues with clinical staff and senior management.
- Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.Â
- Must pay particular attention to understanding the detail by performing reconciliations, implementing controls, and reviewing work completed.Â
