POSITION SUMMARY

The Amynta Group is seeking actuaries and predictive modelers with 3-10 years of experience and 3 exams through FCAS to join the Advanced Analytics and Actuarial function to enhance the pricing analyses and advanced analytics of our insurance and warranty businesses. This person will be part of a dynamic, growing team building insurance pricing models, reserving models, underwriting performance management tools and predictive models. In addition, this person will work closely with account managers and business leaders to support merger and acquisition due diligence, new business development, insurance carrier relationships and account renewals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze warranty and MGA program profitability
  • Perform pricing studies for new and renewal customers and programs
  • Develop predictive models to enhance and improve client and program pricing
  • Update rating tables and algorithms for inclusion in policy management systems
  • Support internal financial statement development around loss sensitive elements of the business including statutory, GAAP and purchase GAAP accounting
  • Work with the Acquisitions team to perform actuarial due diligence of potential acquisition targets
  • Set up and maintain best practices within the advanced analytics and actuarial group as well as with technology team partners

  • Actuarial experience in reserving, pricing and/or predictive modeling in a brokerage, consulting or insurance carrier environment
  • Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze large data sets to develop business-relevant observations and conclusions and to support decision-making
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • The ability to self-start and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in an actuarial role
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Casualty Actuarial Society exam progress and credentials commensurate with experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming skills – R, Python, SAS, other predictive modeling platforms
  • ACAS or FCAS
