Project Engineer (2003017) - Seneca, SC

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to provide detailed project engineering expertise in support of the Seneca site's capital projects. In this role, you will work closely with operations, maintenance, discipline engineers and project managers to ensure project objectives are met. You will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your experience working within a structured safety, purchasing and engineering framework, your ability to track work and use a file system to maintain files and be able to correctly navigate and store finished work. You will also get to share your analytical and problem-solving skills and your ability to effectively track, manage, and document all aspects of project planning and execution.

Formula for Success

• Your ability to read and comprehend technical standards, symbols and design guidelines to properly interpret on paper will be essential as you assist Project Managers with regard to project design.
• Leveraging your education in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and your relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably chemical in nature), you will develop innovative solutions that maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
• Your unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety will be evident as you participate in Environmental, Safety and Health Reviews for new projects.
• Demonstrating your thorough knowledge of process utilities, piping and manufacturing equipment (including all types of piping, valves, regulators and other devices used to control and direct flow in systems) and your ability to identify in the field and represent on paper, you will develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID's).
• Your skills in Microsoft Office Products, Autocad and SAP Project Systems and your ability to interpret marked up drawings will enable you to write/review equipment and instrument specifications.
• Relying on your broad knowledge of chemical unit operations, process and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and DCS process controls, you will assist with commissioning and startup activities for new projects.
• Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with Operations and Maintenance to identify and setup spare parts and generate bill of materials for new projects, work with equipment designers and manufacturing companies to develop a cost-effective and working production process, and conduct project design reviews with key stakeholders.
• Focused on innovation and continuous improvement, you will research and recommend new manufacturing technology.
• Your effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you interact (formally and informally) between project team and key stakeholders.
