Incident Response Analyst

Description:

 Our client has an immediate need for an Incident Response Analyst to handle Tier2/3 incident response activities for security events generated by the Security Operations Center (SOC) and other monitoring tools.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience as a SOC Analyst or Incident Response Analyst
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems by critical and outside the box thinking
• Strong written and verbal communications skills to communicate findings and technical detail in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
• Intermediate knowledge of the following is preferred:
  • Firewalls
  • Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems
  • Web Filtering
  • Mail Filtering
  • Data Loss Prevention
  • SIEM Solutions
  • EDR Solutions and Endpoint Protection Tools
• Professional security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISA, Security+, etc.) are a plus
• Malware Analysis is a plus

Additional Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities will include alert triage, incident handling, incident remediation, intelligence gathering
• Prioritize security events generated by the SOC and security tools
• Investigate security events using firewall logs, SIEM solutions, EDR solutions, and other security tools to identify and prevent or mitigate incidents as they occur
• Establish mitigation recommendations to enhance the security posture of the U. S. Steel environment
• Escalate security events that require additional resources to resolve
• Respond to internal reports of suspicious activity on system endpoints by security tools and end users
• Investigate and respond to suspicious emails identified by email protection systems or reported by end users
• Participate in threat hunting activities and investigate potential threats based on current intelligence and information gathered from security alerts
• Provide detailed responses to incidents within ticketing systems
• Develop incident response processes and playbooks
