The Finance Division is committed to advancing the Universityâ™s mission by providing essential financial services to our students, staff, and faculty.Â The Division is responsible for managing University resources, developing long term financial plans, maintaining policies and internal controls, as well as assisting our community with budgeting, procurement and insurance needs.
The Business Systems Analyst is a member of the Finance Division within the University, reporting directly to the Director of the Internal Consulting Group. This position works closely with the Assistant Vice President of Financial Strategy and Planning, the Director of Workday Program and Management Initiatives, the Associate Vice President and University Controller and the Director of Treasury Operations and their teams to support and enhance multiple business and financial system solutions critical to the success of the Universityâ™s strategic plan. By serving as a functional subject matter expert and working with business owners, analyzing business processes, defining business requirements, and providing overall strategic alignment, this position will support key financial planning and reporting activities. This includes operational budgeting and forecasting, interim budget reporting, multi-year financial planning, tuition/enrollment/financial aid planning, and cost accounting rate calculations.
The Business Systems Analyst isÂ proficient inÂ financial planning processes and fosters strong relationships with the stakeholders to identify opportunities for functional solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes. The position assists in designing and overseeing new planning applications and recommends extending the functionality for existing tools to meet new needs or to reflect changes in functions.
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience.
Experience overseeing metadata and data integrations.
Experience with Adaptive Insights is preferred.
Experience with accounting and financial analysis systems.
Demonstrated strong technical and analytical abilities.
Experience identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions
Demonstrated ability to synthesize information for multiple audiences. Must demonstrate excellentÂ written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple high priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment to meet critical deadlines.
Attention to detail, superb organization skills, and strong sense of ownership required.
Able to work independently and within small and large teams.
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment
Knowledge of financial processes, including but not limited to budget and forecast processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel macro and formula experience and /or experienced with Cloud based Planning and Budgeting applicationsÂ
