Hiring Department University of Missouri, St. Louis - Missouri Institute of Mental Health Addiction Science Project Manager for Equity-focused Substance Use Initiative Nature of Work The University of Missouri-St. Louis, in collaboration with The T ,, Family Care Health Center , and several community-based organizations in the St. Louis area, have received a 3-year grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health. This project will establish community-driven partnerships, education, and interventions that address addiction and overdose among Black St. Louisans, who are currently facing increasing rates of overdose but inadequate access to ongoing addiction treatment and related supportive services. This project focuses on improving the health of and investment in Black people who use drugs in St. Louis and are most affected by addiction and overdose. The broad approach of this initiative is to lead by giving, providing outreach services and responding to the needs of community members with lived experience in the short-term, while working toward our long-term goals. Long-term goals include: 1) to identify current community challenges, needs, and priorities for substance use related services; 2) to invest in and ally with people who use drugs to promote health and wellness by providing training, education, and resources, 3) to invest in and ally with people who use drugs to promote health and wellness by providing training, education, and resources, and 4) and to establish a sustainable, racially-responsive, and community-led harm reduction coalition that advocates for investments and infrastructure to improve health and equity among people who use drugs in the St. Louis region. The Project Manager will use 100% of their time involved in grant administration, partner communications, community collaboration, and report preparation. This role requires significant flexibility in one's day-to-day roles and responsibilities because our approach to achieving project goals will change in response to community feedback and needs. Candidates should be prepared to work with a diverse team that includes health care providers, researchers, professional advocates, people who use drugs, and community activists and organizers. Key Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree (MPH, MSW, Psychology, or equivalent) and/or 3-5 years project management experience; Be skilled in Microsoft Office to independently compose PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents for public consumption Preferred Qualifications: Background in cross-sector collaboration, drug user health, racial equity and inclusion, and community outreach initiatives Reports to: Rachel Winograd, PhD, Associate Research Professor Remote Work/Physical Requirements: Many job duties can and will be done remotely, especially in 2021 as we continue to grapple with COVID-19. For meetings or other activities in community settings, we will adhere to strict social distancing and PPE protocols. As it becomes safe to do so, reporting to work onsite at UMSL-MIMH and at community organizations will be expected. Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience.
