Summary: LRRC is on the hunt to grow our NBI/Conflicts team. We are open to hiring the right candidate to work in Denver or Phoenix, although all staff are currently working remotely as the health and safety of staff is a top priority. This is a high volume, fast-paced position that requires strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience managing conflicts and/or other data systems in a law firm setting. Candidates with other data entry experience will also be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely turnaround and high level of quality control in the assignment of client, matter, and timekeeper numbers in 3E.
- Synchronize and maintain data flow between 3E and new business intake system.
- Maintain client and matter information in the 3E database, including but not limited to, updates to billing information, managing rate tables, recording name changes, updates to billing or origination allocation changes, updates to matter status, and edit other 3E fields as requested.
- Review and implement special billing arrangements in line with outside counsel guidelines.
- Respond to requests from attorneys, assistants, billing, and other administrative teams.
- Perform conflict database searches as required for data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
- Work closely with the Loss Prevention Attorneys and Conflicts Specialists on the lateral clearance process including, but not limited to, time sensitive data entry, system settings, reporting, and filing.
- Responsible for understanding conflicts, new business intake, ethical/security walls, intranet, trademark and patent, and time and billing systems (and the data flows shared by these IT systems) in order to perform analyses of data parity and make recommendations for resolving parity issues to the IT Team to ensure all sources are in agreement.
- Work with IT Team on projects to implement modifications and upgrades to current department systems and to implement new systems, assisting with troubleshooting and testing as needed.
- Assist with special projects, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize complex detailed problems and make sound decisions.
- Solid knowledge of the conflicts process desirable.
- Working knowledge of database and supporting systems interfaces.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with people at all levels with tact and discretion on routine but varied issues.
- Demonstrated consistency in exhibiting sound judgment and handling confidential information appropriately.
- Excellent customer service skills and flexibility to assume other job responsibilities within the department as necessary.
- Overtime will be required during month-end and year-end.
Education and Experience:
- College degree preferred. High School degree or equivalent considered with relevant experience.
- Minimum one to two years of experience with conflicts of interest or law firm/legal experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with 3E (accounting database), Intapp Open (intake/conflicts database), electronic workflow systems, and other standard software (Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, etc.) strongly preferred.
