SALARY
Commensurate with training and experience. This position is funded jointly by UT Extension and Jackson County. Jackson County Government funds 22% of the position salary and benefits costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for management and operations of the county staff, programs, facilities and equipment.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate Agriculture and Natural Resources (50%) and 4-H Youth Development (50%) programs.
  • Keep abreast of the latest information in agriculture, marketing and community economic development to meet the educational needs of the county.
  • Responsible for the County Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
  • Serve as liaison between the Regional Director, county officials and County Agricultural Extension Committee.
  • Be familiar with the county, its situation and its people.
  • Maintain good public relations with staff and audience.
  • Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion or veteran status.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
