Position description: The Advanced Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (ARDL) is seeking a professional Laboratory Information System (LIS) and database administrator independently capable of monitoring and tuning systems and databases, optimizing functionality, designing and implementing enhancements and troubleshooting and resolving issues. This is a one year temporary appointment. Responsibilities 40% Maintains the Laboratory Information System (LIS) functionality, monitors LIS and databases, and designs and implements new functionality
- Maintain an effective LIS network for ARDL staff ensuring reliability and security.
- Maintain and optimize critical LIS functionality such as accessioning, batch uploads, result interfaces, result reporting, data transfer, billing, specimen inventory, data security, and specimen tracking.
- Create and define new studies, tests, storage schemas, coded comments, data transfer protocols and reports.
- Works directly with staff to develop, enhance or troubleshoot LIS data, reports, etc.
- Troubleshoot, tracks and resolves LIS issues. Recommends corrective action to prevent future issues.
50% Manage Study Specific Data - Review, standardize and import data from the REDCap Cloud platform.
- Evaluate, organize and aggregate data.
- Perform data analytics and provide reports.
- Monitor the integrity and security of the database.
- Provide user training, support or feedback as needed.
- Merge different databases into a central study database for distribution and data analysis
10% Ensure accuracy and compliance - Monitors and maintains documentation of system performance, maintenance, upgrades, changes, data records, backups, audits and troubleshooting to meet regulatory and study requirements.
- Perform periodic audits to ensure accuracy of data.
