Summary: The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for assisting with planning production schedules and forecasts to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity.
Responsibilities will include:
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufactured, assembled, and purchased components.
Daily production and business planning based on demand and backlog.
Updates the master schedule to ensure sequence and lead times meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
Review work orders and issue travelers, work instructions.
Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and resource requirements.
Monitors scheduled workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.
Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, etc.
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Prepares production reports.
Must have a Degree or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience in production planning capacity.
Computer skills; MS Office proficiency, Word, Excel, Outlook.
SQL Database experience a plus.
Ability to write clear, concise, and professional business correspondence a must.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong communication skills.
Can help define and create the processes.
