This position is for a Principal Database Analyst / Software Engineer to participate in a key team to ensure that the highest quality data is stored and delivered via company-wide data governance strategies for the purpose of improving the efficiency and increasing the profitability of the business units we serve. Analyze specific data requirements and recommend quality improvement corrections. Investigates and analyzes the data procedures and business rules surrounding the oil and gas data captured in our internal corporate repositories. Ability to work with analytical tools and data management applications to support quality improvement re-engineering projects
General Job Duties
Participate in strategic information quality improvement projects in the design and delivery of value-add processes with associated data content to improve the quality and accuracy of our oil and gas information.
Analyze and validate methodologies to improve data content loads and database processes within corporate data repositories.
Participate in the delivery of data collection processes to transform raw data into critical information and determine the most efficient data integration strategies.
Analyze and verify internal corporate repositories to ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency.
Apply programmatic changes to the corporate databases by designing and implementing approved data correction procedures.
Provide analysis, reports and services to internal colleagues and external clients by creating custom programs and extracting oil and gas information from internal databases.
Provide technical and domain knowledge expertise to internal energy business units.
Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
Good working knowledge in E&P industry and/or data management is preferred
Proven experience with SQL/ PLSQL and UNIX
Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and design techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a project team
Interacts with other employees at all levels in the course of day-to-day activities.

Participate on interdepartmental teams and business stakeholders
May be required to interact with external customers.
Develops relationships with professional organizations, peer groups and industry trade groups.

For work locations in the state of Colorado, the anticipated base salary range for this role would be between $91,000 and $116,000. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the applicant.
