Position Summary :
As part of the organization that is transitioning from the traditional Program Management Office (PMO) to the Agile Program Management Office (APMO), the Agile Project Manager not only understands the traditional phases of the development lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing but also helps lead the change toward Agile Project Management by empowering and enabling the team toward self-organizing and self-managing teams in a servant leadership capacity and role. The Agile Project Manager will manage stakeholder communications, facilitate product requirements, enterprise breakdown model, facilitate building quality-in and developing in cadence and release on-demand.
Agile Project management responsibilities include collaboration and planning across multiple functional areas, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and teams to insure proper capacity allocation, cross-functional skills, and alignment. The Agile Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring clear communication of Agile Team and Team of Teams' priorities, have skin in the game on product and release delivery, ensuring teams are ROAM-ing the risks, and managing dependencies among a cross-functional teams, all while representing the best interest of the business unit and driving desired outcomes.
The Agile Project Manager role may, at times, assist business and marketing in the development of strategies optimizing the performance of new and existing product lines to achieve business objectives. This requires the Agile Project Manager to maintain an understanding of the business practices (program management, portfolio plans, strategy, etc.) and provide input to program management, product management and the engineering organizations on technical staff coordination, resource allocation, performance feedback and development planning.
Agile teams may consist of team members distributed globally. Working with an international team may be required on some projects. Also, some travel, including both domestic and international travel, may be required to meet with team members and facilitate progress.
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanbans and Lean-Agile information radiators. Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs) Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events Facilitate or help facilitate the PI planning event. Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program/ART PI Objectives and keep them for visible and transparent. Assist teams in tracking the execution of features and capabilities. Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync. Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets Help manage risks and dependencies. Escalate and track impediments. Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks. Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment. Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle. Work with the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) on program/project execution and operational excellence Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails. Facilitate System Demos Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility ART level and help them improve. Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices

Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science or equivalent experience (MS and/or MBA desirable)
5+ years of experience in product or application development.
2+ years of experience in agile project management or project leadership role.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Agile methodologies like SAFe, Scrum, XP or Kanban.
Proven ability to lead multiple teams, partner with management and lead indirect resources.
Demonstrated experience in leading agile project development efforts including experience in agile project planning, lean-agile execution, risk management.
Advanced training or certifications in Scaled Agile (such as SAFe RTE, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master or SAFe Scrum Master), PMI-ACP, Lean, Scrum, Business Administration, Management, Operations or Project Engineering is highly desirable.
Knowledge of agile project management processes and tools such Jira-Align, Jira-Project, Test Management Tools, understanding of Jenkins CI/CD etc.
Experience and understanding of development on cloud such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of product certifications, such as 61508 functional safety, information security, UL, NEMA, CE, TUV, and other approval agencies, is a plus.
Similar industry experience such as technical knowledge in industrial controls, new product design, hardware/software, product testing, manufacturing and/or continuation & product life-cycle engineering, is a plus.
