National Jewish Health is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Custom Applications Systems team. The Custom Applications Team is responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining custom software for the organization. The Team has several apps actively being enhanced or in maintenance mode, with exciting possibilities ahead for others.

Position Summary The Senior Software Engineer will lead the technical design, architecture, development and maintenance of new software and web solutions or enhancements to current software. Responsible for analyzing system requirements, writing technical specifications and integrating services with external vendors. Also creates new framework and standard processes for software and web development projects.
Develops technical design, architecture and specifications for new software and web solutions and provides guidance into future purchases/development and current software enhancements.
Responsible for code development and configuration of new and existing software and web solutions, performing unit testing, debugging, production code deployments and performance monitoring.
Responsible for maintaining data integrity of software and web systems.
Responsible for data architecture and database development that ensures applications are data driven and utilize relational database concepts.
Acts as team lead on software and web development projects and mentors other team members throughout the software development life cycle, i.e. validating business requirements and performing code reviews with team members.
Establishes and enforces National Jewish Health software and development framework, including best practices and standard processes in development and software projects such as: coding conventions, source control techniques, unit testing standards and process automation.
Creates and maintains software and web solution documentation.
Understands troubleshooting techniques and strategies and provides support to customers, business and IST teams to resolve operational problems.

Salary Range: $108,223 -$142,014

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field required
Work Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of web design, architecture and development with ASP.NET 4.0 Framework, C#, SQL Queries, WCF web services and Object Oriented Analysis and Design experience required.
Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Advanced SQL Server, database architecture, design and development required. Designing, developing web service components and project management experience preferred. Microsoft Certified Developer preferred.
