The Senior Programmer/Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing the Enterprise Information Systems including analyzing existing systems and procedures and designing operational and system improvements throughout the production life cycle.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and develop software program enhancements and new applications.
Develop the necessary system interfaces and migrate data from existing systems and databases to the new application database management system, ensuring documentation is completed.
Consult with users to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements. Work closely with the College community and key stakeholders by conducting user interviews to determine functional needs, including Ellucian Colleague ERP modules and rule writing.
Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Write and maintain technical specifications. Develop and maintain plans outlining steps and timetables for developing programs.
Create test transactions and run tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs. Consult with users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
Provide functional and technical support and expertise for internal Student Services, which include Ellucian Colleague, Touchnet, Starrez, Academic Works users and liaise with 3rd party vendors and support services to address and resolve identified system matters.
Consult with 3rd party software providers including Cloud service providers of business applications.
Install software products for end users as required.
Research, recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades as directed in support of CIA initiatives.
Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and other team members to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Provide end user support, training and properly use help desk software to enter and direct calls to appropriate team members, as well as follow-up.

4-year college degree required in the field of computer science, information services or related field.
Eight to ten (8-10) years of database administration experience managing MS SQL Server Databases and developing web applications.
Experience with SharePoint, Active Directory and SSO.
Experience with Ellucian Colleague, Touchnet, Starrez, Academic Works.
Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server databases, Transact-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers.
Skilled in HTML, XML and proficient in Crystal Reports, Java, VB-script, J-script, .NET and Cold Fusion, Colleague Studio.
Experience accurately estimating application development and implementation tasks.
Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies.
Must have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to test and solve database and application issues.
Experience integrating web applications with other systems.
Familiarity with database security practices, upgrades and network technologies.
Web application development/implementation experience.
Experience developing web applications utilizing relational databases specifically MS SQL Server and web tools.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to internal customers.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment, and maintain collaborative relationships with all members of the team.
Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to business needs.
Regular work requires the use of a computer, sometimes in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
