Albion College invites applications for the Application Analyst / Developer position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity and diversity. Reporting to the chief information officer, the application analyst / developer provides business and technical support/solutions to business units at the institution. Works to understand the business needs of the client, and provides definition, analytical and programming in support of those needs including developing new software applications and updating and modifying existing applications. Information is generally provided through real-time software applications or through reporting tools. Information customers include students as well as employees in the administrative and academic arenas. The application analyst / developer works to understand and document the business processes supporting the customers, and the customer’s information and application business requirements. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload working closely with customers to translate business needs into finished business systems. Associate’s Degree in related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
Development experience in two or more of the following: Google scripting, Slate, Banner, APIs, and the ability to quickly become proficient in all necessary and changing technologies
Experience building successful customer relationships and supporting application solutions to meet business partner needs
Experience with business analysis review, requirements gathering, effective coordination/communication with end users
Minimum of 3 years programming experience with SQL or similar
Experience in or with standard higher education business functions (e.g. Financial Aid, Faculty) through IT support or other role preferred
