Chemeketa Community College welcomes applicants for a Systems Analyst. The Systems Analyst serves as a college-wide contact for network-related services; plans, coordinates, and supervises all activities related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of organizational network-related services. This position is responsible for identifying top architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the organization, architecting virtual and physical systems strategies and working with Chemeketa’s information technology teams to implement, integrate, and maintain these strategies.

Chemeketa Community College is the third largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, with approximately 29,000 students enrolled from a diversity of backgrounds. Chemeketa has seven locations, Salem campus, Yamhill Valley campus, Brooks Regional Training facility, Woodburn center, Polk center, Center for Business & Industry and Viticulture at Eola. Chemeketa's district encompasses nearly 2,700 square miles of the Mid- Willamette Valley and includes all of Marion, Polk, and most of Yamhill counties with a small portion of Linn County. Salary: $4,834.00- $7,701.00 Monthly
The successful candidate will have:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution -AND- CCNA certification
Two years’ experience in network/systems administration
Equivalent combination of education and work experience
Knowledge of extended routing protocol
Knowledge of privacy practices and laws such as FERPA and HIPA
Knowledge of a variety of operating systems, primarily Linux/Unix and Cisco/Foundry IOSes
Excellent understanding of methods for maintaining and administering networking system
Solid working knowledge of Virtual Infrastructure and containerization technologies such as: VMWare ESX, KVM, Linux Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, QEMU, et
Good understanding of internet security tools and how to harden OSes for exposure to the internet (IPTables scripting, SELinux, Tripwire, etc.
Experience with Enterprise Monitoring Systems such as LogicMonitor, Nagios, Cacti, and Zenoss; Strong understanding of Networking Essentials such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Static Routing, NAT, and PAT
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skill
Ability to work well under extreme pressure
Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary team
Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Computer Programming
Experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as Bash/Python/Perl/PHP/ Java/VB Script/Powershell
Three years or more experience maintaining and administering networking systems
Two years’ experience using advanced devops tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef
