The Business Analyst is responsible for enabling change in the organization by defining business needs, fostering business relationships, and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be involved in quality assurance, data analysis, digital product management, business process engineering, vendor relations, and the Information Technology Service Management life cycle. They should have the ability to identify business requirements, communicate them to the Information Services team, and translate them into service and operational agreements. This person is a multi-tasker who has great verbal and written communication skills, as well as a true customer service mindset.
Remote opportunity - This is a full-time remote (work from home) position. Occasional travel to the ONS Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA throughout the year will be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a team player and supportive of other team members with no ego.
Meet with users to determine the scope, needs, and functional requirements of changing systems. These can be elicited via interviews, observation, immersion, prototyping, business process mapping, and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate requirements gathered to reconcile conflicts, evaluate business needs, and compile and organize data gathered into a form that technical resources can utilize to build solutions. Forms may include wireframes, sitemaps, data and content models, and timelines.
Enforce, coordinate, and maintain the incident, problem, and change management processes and standards in conjunction with the Information Services Supervisors. Proactively track and coordinate technical resources to resolve incidents, problems and change requests per SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements) along with communicating to technical resources and stakeholders changes in the status of incidents, problems, and change requests.
Coordinate business relationships and communications between the Information Services department and other ONS departments, vendors, and consultants.
Provide input on programs and services in the IS Department by analyzing business needs. Assist in motivating Information Services team members to improve the department’s services and programs. Create, evaluate and measure whether services and programs are meeting the organization’s strategic and operational needs via SLAs and OLAs. Resolve business and Information Services roadblocks in a timely manner.
Responsible for the coordination, organization, and development of the Information Services department’s technical documentation and service catalog.
Work with ONS staff, IS resources, and third-party vendors to ensure the quality of solutions delivered to the ONS Enterprise. This includes the development, execution, and remediation of QA and testing plans.
Work with ONS staff to assist in data analysis needs for various areas of the business. This includes the development of dashboards and other tools to provide stakeholders. This also includes being an active participant in the development and management of ONS’s data governance.
Ensure the development of accurate documentation, including end-user manuals and change logs. Train staff on changed systems and processes.
Work with technical resources to identify and recommend the creation, modification, and integration of systems to promote organizational efficiency and productivity. Base work on incidents, problems, and the organization's service-level needs.
Assist in the development of usability, performance, timelines, contracts, resources, milestones, and hardware/software architecture in conjunction with technical resources.

A Bachelor’s degree along with 3-5 years of technology-related experience (preferred).
