Join the Information Technologies team at The College of St. Scholastica as the Director, IT Technical Services. This position provides leadership in the management and coordination of the Information Technology Services Help Desk, all computing services (hardware and software), telecommunications, computer labs, remote campuses, audio-visual and media services, print services, IT projects and contracts, and end user support to ensure that faculty, staff and students have the technology they need to meet their objectives as efficiently and securely as possible. This position develops and implements technology-related policies and procedures to streamline services and enhance the customer experience. This position plays a critical role to determine future technology needs as well as purchasing and implementing technology solutions.
Supervises IT staff and Teaching Assistants assigned to Technical Services and Help Desk unit
Provides operational management of the College’s Technical Infrastructure
Serves as Project Manager for IT projects; coordinates projects that impact multiple departments ensuring that IT solutions meet College needs and standards
Serves as an escalation point for faculty, staff, and students with technology issues or concerns
Budget development and management, purchasing processes, and vendor relations
Design, implementation and support of multimedia classrooms
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field; and IT management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of various computer environments, hardware and software, and ERP system(s) and 3rd party solutions.
Knowledge of Local and wide area networks, security, firewalls, various protocols, wireless technology, VOIP, data backup, data storage, and high availability systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Skill to prepare clear and concise documentation, user instructions, reports, correspondence and other written materials; analytical to develop and to utilize reliable metrics
Leadership ability to effectively supervise and manage employees, develop teams, and accomplish unit goals
Effective written and verbal communicator, with both technical and non-technical colleagues
Commitment to a campus environment that embraces community through mutual respect of those with different cultures or backgrounds
Initiative and independent judgment and able to work collaboratively
Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands.
