Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Web Programmer. This position will help enhance and maintain the college's website by creating and refining the website infrastructure through continuing improvements to the back-end codebase, and development of new initiatives. This individual will work with College Communications' Web Content Team, as part of a small technical team of designers and coders. They will also assist in the continuing development of features and workflows based on third-party systems which add functionality to the main website in areas such as news, calendaring, and forms, as well as participate in collaboratives efforts with IT in areas such as Banner integration. The Web Programmer will become knowledgeable and proficient in the various web systems in use at SUNY Brockport so as to provide an effective backup for the Web Manager, and will use terminal access to the web and database servers to update configurations and run scripts. This position will manage and mentor student assistants.
Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Proficiency with a *NIX operating system and shells.
Experience with a higher ed-based CMS.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with version control systems.
Experience with CakePHP frameworks, especially early versions.
In-depth experience with Omni Campus CMS.
Experience with LiveWhale calendar and storyteller systems, especially with respect to widget development and XPHP.
Knowledge of and experience with coding XSL transformations, especially in the OmniCampus environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with git in a shared development environment.
Experience with atomic design, especially using Patternlab. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm
