Abbott's Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) business is recruiting for an experienced sales person with diagnostic experience and an in-depth understanding of the private healthcare sector for a national Business Development Manager role for the Infectious Diseases portfolio.
The Business Development Manager is a pivotal role, managing the business across a growing division and requiring excellent leadership, planning, prioritisation and relationship building both internally and externally. You will be focusses on: healthcare providers, outsourced service provision, distributor(s), national bodies and insurers in this strategic, commercial role, leading a movement towards POC within the private market, consistently meeting business/sales objectives and delivering growth in core product focus areas. This will require harnessing cross-functional capability of the wider ARDx team.
The overall goal of the Business Development Manager is to build sustainable growth across both ID core brands and the COVID portfolio year on year, through these main responsibilities:
Delivery of assigned revenue target.
Maintaining an infrastructure that is motivational and integrates with government focussed colleagues, marketing, market access, clinical etc. and informally supporting the development of talent.
Encouraging new ideas within a framework of business planning and territory management.
Recruiting, negotiating and managing distributor relationships as allocated.
Strategic business planning.
Sales process management - managing our sales process and ensuring team members are on track, and supported.
Timely forecasting and reporting on performance, product demand, expenditure etc.
Strategic collaboration - leading and initiating projects, communicating strategic landscape etc.
What you'll need:
Preferably a degree or higher in Business, Biological Science or a related field.
Significant industry and sales leadership experience, with a consistent track record of achieving profitable growth.
Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices, preferably within market(s) relevant to the product line.
Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry, NHS and private healthcare providers.
Experience of managing numerous stakeholders in sales cycles that exceed 9 months, constructing compelling business cases including ROI analysis, beneficial.
Demonstrable track record in building teams, developing and coaching.
Working knowledge of medical equipment leasing and managed services and contracting/contract reviews beneficial.
Ideally experience in delivering change initiatives and facilitating change, alongside an ability to think innovatively.
Experience in CRM systems, strong MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint skills.
An excellent communicator and negotiator, with fantastic interpersonal skills and the proven ability to achieve results through influencing others.
Willingness to travel extensively across the UK (candidates could be located anywhere in the UK but must have good transport links), with some European travel expected.
