Assignments will include researching and writing issue briefs, project reports and other written products; monitoring relevant policy activity at the state and federal levels; data management and statistical analyses; and other policy-relevant analyses. This individual will work with other analysts, project staff, external stakeholders, and clients on an on-going basis, while working on multiple concurrent projects.
Master’s degree in public policy, public health or related field (with health policy or public health related focus).
Minimum of 2-4 years’ related experience, including a working knowledge of key health policy issues.
Should have experience and proficiency with:
Medicaid policy and programs, including knowledge of long-term care programs.
Legislative and regulatory analysis.
Substantial knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance regulation.
Management and analysis of health-related data, including publicly-available data, survey and other data. Proficiency with analytical software (preferably SQL, Access, STATA/SAS/SPSS).
Strong qualitative skills, including designing interview protocols, conducting interviews, and conducting thematic analysis of data.
Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistical tests and statistical inference.
Ability to work independently within defined guidelines, as well as willingness to work in a highly interactive and collegial group of analysts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and projects
Demonstrated interest in: population health, health equity, Medicaid policy, long-term care, senior services, and public health practice.
Demonstrated knowledge of health care financing and delivery, access to care, and SDOH.
Experience with analysis of health care claims and other administrative data.
Experience with grant writing and seeking grant funded opportunities is preferred.
