What you will do:
In this role you will develop web based front end applications for an array of novel and innovative design and manufacturing technologies under leadership from our core team in Ireland. You will understand the intricacies of complex software and systems and take ownership of development tasks from design, testing and documentation while working on a team with other professionals.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop scalable server-side applications that support 3D and 2D geometry computations.
You will lead and drive the design and development of scalable applications with mathematical algorithms, parallel processing, and data processing logic
You will also support any development activities including user story creation, requirements delivery, software architecture, software design, and testing both formal and informal.
Together as a team, we will maintain our continuous integration and continuous development pipeline to build and test our application automatically.
You will participate in daily scrums covering design requirements with wire-framing, flow charts, and geometrical algorithms.
Interact with experts, the UX team, end-users, and the management team to define key features and goals.
Implement compelling graphical user interfaces in 2D and 3D.
Collaborate with back-end application developers to create a responsive, safe, and maintainable product.
Ensure responsiveness, stability, and safety of the application.
Collaborate with the team to estimate and plan software development work.
Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the highest quality of design and code throughout the application including software architecture, product planning, product requirements, and development procedures.
Document code according to professional and established standards. Create project documentation in accordance with established design controls and regulatory requirements.
Work with the team to optimize the software development process. Participate in goal setting and planning.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree/ Master of Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent/ related subject required
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps tools and deployment on Azure PaaS also a distinct advantage
Your technical and non-technical competencies:
2 years' experience in in regulated environment, quality systems, engineering, or equivalent experience desirable.
Experience programming user-facing features on software applications (links to previous developments or development portfolios welcome).
Experience creating 3D graphical applications using libraries such as three.js, Open Scene Graph or similar.
Strong understanding of 3D and 2D Geometry Computation, Mathematical Algorithms and linear algebra
Experience with parallel programming
Experience with scalable and highly available applications for Kubernetes clusters
SQL or NoSQL database experience such as Postgres/PostGIS, CosmosDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB,
Preferred Languages: Python, C+
Expertise with best practices in unit testing and design verification testing.
Good understanding of software development design and programming best practices. Experience writing production code with focus on well structured, maintainable, and testable software.
Experience working on regulated products, preferably medical.
Experience working on production software teams using an Agile development process.
Exhibit strong communication and influencing skills as well as ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
