This is a hands-on and dynamic role, which involves delivering and coordinating Learning and Development activity across the Hospital. You will train and facilitate courses and related programs that align with the Hospital's goals. The position focuses on the implementation of new Learning and Development initiatives and projects as well as helps to promote best practice in our policies and processes to encourage focused and effective development of our people.
The Learning & Development Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
Supports an enterprise-wide learning and development strategy aligned with the Hospital's goals to ensure Boston Children's as a workplace of choice.
Collaborates with managers and other internal/external resources.
Facilitates and trains management programs, professional skills development programs, and the implementation of new initiatives.
Maintains records of program participation and completion.
Assesses the success of development plans and helps employees make the most of learning opportunities.
Designs and deliver e-learning courses, workshops, and other trainings.
Creates and executes learning strategies and programs.
Provides reports on the status of training completions, effectiveness, and other operational metrics.
Presents training via eLearning, virtual classroom/webinar, and/or in-person.
Additional duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Three years of relevant experience in training delivery and facilitation.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills (in-person and virtual).
Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up).
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, and managing to project due dates.
Experience with program/project management preferred.
Ability to cultivate a credible relationship with team members and colleagues throughout the organization.
Ability to comfortably interact with all levels of employees, including frontline team members through executive leadership.
Proficiency in MS Office required.
Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
