TheUniversity of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Graduate School has an opportunity for a Data Assessment and Accreditation Specialist (Data Analytics Analyst) for the Physician Assistant Leadership and Learning Academy (PALLA). The Data Assessment and Accreditation Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the ongoing accreditation processes for PALLA and associated Physician Assistant (PA programs) in the state of Maryland. The incumbent in this position will support the PA programs in collecting, formatting, managing, and presenting program data required for compliance with accreditation standards. The incumbent in this position will coordinate routine activities such as provide guidance to PA program directors in data correction, and assess and present insightful data-driven decisions within the University of Maryland System PA programs. In collaboration with PALLA faculty and the associated PA programs, the Data Assessment and Accreditation Specialist will coordinate and advise on programmatic data mining and analysis to include quantitative and qualitative analysis as required by accrediting agencies.

Develop a strong understanding of the ARC-PA reporting requirements for the Physician Assistant program.
Oversee and coordinate all accreditation related initiatives at PALLA.
Provide input to PA Program Directors and the staff on the program accreditation processes and ongoing data collection and assessment.
Provide input to PALLA stakeholders to identify valuable data sources and benchmarks and interpret and analyze data in triangulating results using statistical techniques and in providing ongoing reports.
Develop and implement templates for databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to ensure ongoing programmatic self-assessment and compliance.
Innovate and define new process for quality improvement opportunities within the PA programs.
Support PA programs in presenting information using data visualization techniques.
Support the analytical and data mining efforts of the PA program directors when performing analysis on student testing, course evaluations, remediation metrics, clinical rotation information, and other longitudinal analysis required for the Physician Assistant accreditation process.
Provide input to Faculty when generating assessment instruments.
In partnership with PALLA faculty, support and/or conduct professional development for PA faculty and staff concerning accreditation issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned by PALLA Executive Director.
Education: Bachelor's degree in predictive analytics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated experience with meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and advanced structural equation modeling required. Prior experience preferred. E xperience with data analysis; data manipulation and preparation using various reporting techniques; software solutions; and interpretation of PA accreditation standards preferred. E xperience as a statistical data analyst or business data analyst or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with Windows operating systems and network protocols preferred.
Other: Related experience may be substituted for education. Knowledge of deploying data science solutions to the business environment. Knowledge of big data and data mining concepts and technologies. Knowledge of data modeling techniques such as: Classification (e.g. Decision Trees and Support Vector Machine), Regression (i.e. Linear and Nonlinear), Clustering (e.g. K-means, and Fuzzy), Time-series modelling and forecasting (e.g. ARIMA, GARCH, and Exponential Smoothing), and Statistical Analysis (e.g. Hierarchical Modeling and Hypothesis Testing).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of accreditation practices in health professions programs.
Skill developing surveys using platforms such as Qualtrics.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Strong knowledge of statistics (especially descriptive statistics) and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel including use of macros and SPSS).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, triangulate, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adept at creating queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver information with high integrity and meet deadlines.
Very strong skills in presentation tools such as PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills which includes the ability to give presentations to large audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as on a team.
Strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.
The hiring range for this position is in the mid $50,000s to mid $60,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
