The Director, Business Development will work closely with the Vice President Business Development, the Executive Team, and staff to execute on Dairyland’s strategic priorities in developing and implementing business development opportunities and strategies. This role will identify, investigate, evaluate and negotiate strategic business opportunities that are in line with the cooperative’s long-range strategic goals. The Director, Business Development will play a key role in facilitating strategic thinking, establishing and maintaining key relationships with Members, non-member customers, vendor partners, and ensuring success of new business services.
Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field with minimum 10 years of progressively responsible complex experience in management preferably within the electric utility industry. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. MBA preferred.
Strong business/financial acumen, management and visionary leadership skills.
Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
Strong project management skills, with demonstrated history of managing significant and complex projects.
Ability to responsibly manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, proactively, and demonstrate sound strategic judgment.
