Work you'll do/Responsibilities
Work with development teams to deliver solutions the meet client requirements
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
Leverage your strong insurance industry knowledge to develop rate books, rate routines and rating algorithms
Provide technical configuration knowledge to deliver 1st class rating solutions
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Track, manage and be a part of small teams on short term sprints, and long-term software deployments
Collaborate with teams and implement the most relevant development tools/techniques to solve client issues and exceed client requirements
Use your strong communication skills and technical knowledge to translate technical software solutions to non-technical clients
5+ years of development experience with Java and web services
Knowledge of one or more RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server)
Ability to analyze and develop technical specifications from a user story before start implementing the user story
Experience reviewing, fixing, and maintaining the code developed by peers or junior programmers
Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy to understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their causes
Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills and ability to break down large complex concept
A curious, questioning attitude that leads them to look past superficial appearances to find deeper problems, insights, and solutions
Travel up to 10% annually (While 10% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
Must live near, or relocate to, the Lake Mary, FL, Gilbert, AZ, or Mechanicsburg, PA areas
Limited Immigration Sponsorship may be available
Experience in the insurance industry
Experience developing with leading insurance package solutions
PNC - Property and casualty experience (rating program)
Experience Cloud Native platforms
Experience with database querying and database management systems
Hands-on experience with RDBMS
Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum) and using the JIRA tool is a plus
