The Senior Actuarial Analyst will help support the practice’s goal of providing clear, actionable insights for our clients to facilitate informed decision-making and improved outcomes. This analyst will be responsible for both delivering tailored solutions for individual clients and enhancing the Analytics group’s overall brand, practices, and capabilities to bring value to clients across the country.
Collaborate with clients and internal team members to understand needs, identify opportunities, and develop strategic solutions to a client’s insurance challenges
Work with teams to effectively communicate and sell innovative ideas and strategies to Lockton clients and prospects
Provide guidance to the group through thought leadership, collaboration, and coaching
Prepare a variety of analytic outputs based on client or prospect data, including loss projection and stratification, collateral analysis, program comparison, dynamic capital model, captive feasibility study, and other ad hoc reports
Compile, analyze, interpret, and present data trends to guide decision-making
Communicate and explain complex actuarial concepts to clients and internal associates
Negotiate with carrier actuaries to improve loss forecasts and drive down collateral
Recommend and/or implement new or improved analytic solutions for our clients
Partner with key stakeholders throughout the organization to identify business needs
Mentor other analysts on best practices
Remain informed on industry developments and effectively communicate the implications both internally and externally.
Contribute white papers / research articles to advance Lockton Analytics’ brand in the market
Work with various tools (Excel, VBA, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc.) to create sophisticated and scalable analytic tools and processes.
Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, computer science, finance, or other business-related degree
ACAS or near ACAS
3 to 5 years of P&C industry experience. Workers’ compensation, commercial auto liability, and commercial general liability experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills with a desire to work collaboratively with others
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
Ability to take initiative and ownership on projects
