Researching and identifying the requirements of software development and application programming needs. Analyzing vendor, internally developed, and open source solutions to meet the integrated needs of the project.
Specifying, designing, developing, codes, tests and implements software that supports the needs of multiple projects considering the individual goals and objectives of each entity.
Provides analytical and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders. Identifies requirements, develops software design, codes, plans and executes testing, and ensures that the software delivered meets specifications.
In order to qualify you must have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent
Experience meeting complex user requirements
Experience maintaining Linux servers or other Linux environments
Experience developing and deploying Python and/or Java web applications
Experience developing data processing pipelines, ideally, Python, R, or another dynamically-typed language
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
Ability to work dynamically, communicate with a range of collaborators and stakeholders, balance competing deadlines and obligations, and be eager to independently learn new skills and technologies.
Exposure to concepts in genomics or bioinformatics (e.g. through past employment or university coursework)
Exposure to policies around privacy and sensitive information, particularly in the realm of clinical care or research
Familiarity with cloud services providers, particularly AWS
Familiarity with distributed computing, HPC platforms
