Lead Business Process/Financial Systems Analyst - (210001JD)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Medicine - Office of Resource Management is currently recruiting for a Lead Business Proces/Financial Systems Analyst . This position will be responsible for leading several initiatives in the Office of Resource Management related to business process improvement and documentation and building an internal collaboration site. This role will also have a critical role in determining the SOM's path forward for QPB budget and forecast planning tool development. In addition, this role will responsible for developing tools for Dean's Office reconciliation and academic commitment reporting and analysis, via PowerBI.

Provide strategic and tactical support by analyzing and interpreting business and statistical data to provide creative solutions for business decision making and planning.
Provide technical leadership to business analysis of data generated by utilizing a variety of databases.
Act as lead analyst to generate, gather, analyze, and prepare data for further analysis and reports.
Analyzes management requested data and develop rules and methodologies for effective data management.
Determine specifications of data collection and delivery. Develop and maintain data and data systems necessary for business analysis and reporting. Develop and design procedures for data collection and maintenance and ensure standardization of design is maintained.
Ensure the integrity of data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis.
Gather data from various systems and problem solve data with standard statistical methods. Interpret trends or patterns of complex financial data and develop recommendations based on findings.
Perform basic statistical analysis of projects and reports and provide written summary of data analysis. Organize data with other relevant data types into databases, graphs, routine and ad hoc reports, and presentations of financial data.
Investigate and resolve data quality issues and evaluate situations according to department processes to determine the best course of action to correct the data.
Identify trends and issues and resolve functional issues and risks respective to the implementation and ongoing support of the system and databases. Responsible for drafting new business processes and/or develops functional specifications for enhancements with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration and management of data.
Assess the current practices to ensure the software and system supports the efficient process of the department. Document current and future reporting processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field to data being analyzed.
Experience: Five (5) years of directly related experience with statistical or data analytics, business improvement, or quality assurances practices.
Supervisory Experience: N/A
Other: Prior experience working with Power BI for Office 365, SQL, Crystal Reports, SharePoint, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and PowerPivot is preferred.
