Analyst Job Description
You’re a techie, you love data, and you are meticulous about the quality of data entry, synthesizing information, writing reports, making and implementing surveys, and enjoy crunching numbers. You have your own processes for staying organized, tracking tasks and deadlines, and enjoy working with teammates to stay on track and get to the finish line. You are a curious type, especially about information and learning, and how it can influence decision-making.
With your dry sense of humor and stellar work ethic, you are a fun and valuable member to have on any team. You’re masterful at database management. You also excel at project management, learning management systems, and have a working knowledge of many tools and platforms. Additional skills such as writing/editing skills and tech savviness make you a well-rounded and multi-dimensional contributor. Some of your friends might even affectionately call you a geek or a nerd, and we embrace quirkiness to our team.
You seek professional growth, and are not only open to feedback, but you crave it. Drama eludes you because you are too busy getting things done. While you enjoy learning, you enjoy applying new-found knowledge even more. You do not require constant supervision to make progress on your projects as you are a self-starter. You have intellectual curiosity, you are do-gooder, a learner, and a finisher with a ‘can do’ attitude. Asking the right questions is your superpower. Does this sound like you? Then you might be the next addition to our small, but mighty, tenacious team.
We are looking for an observant and data-driven person to fill our newly created analyst position; someone to manage and develop our member database and transform it into a more robust tool for the organization. You will support the success of APRO’s major functions including membership campaigns, major tradeshows, educational events, industry surveys, and social media by using quantitative and qualitative metrics to share our story with stakeholders. The analyst is responsible for applying feedback regarding all these functions and making data and database adjustments as necessary.
To be successful as an APRO analyst, you must have an understanding of how to read and interpret research and data, create industry surveys, and experience using of a variety of technology tools including Slack, Survey Monkey, Linked In, Constant Communication, and Word Press, to name a few. In addition, we seek someone who can translate research and results succinctly into industry reports, surveys, webinars, and emails geared for our members.
The analyst will also be responsible for updating and managing membership data and running database reports. The analyst will have access to a wealth of membership data that can be mined and used to predict trends in membership and show patterns and insights. The analyst will ensure the data remains of the highest integrity, making sure data files are maintained properly and accurately tagged.
The analyst will also support the documentation and development of standard operating procedures related to database management, industry surveys, and research standards. The analyst will identify and set up standard reports for staff to run independently, automated where possible and provide training to staff as necessary.
The analyst will support the development of APRO social media posts and other communications with the goal of understanding what resonates with our members and what does not, and making content recommendations for improvement. The analyst will work to understand who the followers are and their browsing patterns using metrics embedded in the software and sharing that information regularly.
