The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for analysis, reporting, and project management. This individual is responsible for supporting financial analysis for the IT area, including the completion of standardized reporting packages aimed at providing insights and driving actions for 2022, and the development of the 2023 budgets. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the execution and delivery of the financial aspects of the enterprise annual and multi-year planning process for OneAmerica, ensuring it achieves valuable outcomes. This individual will also help drive enterprise forecasting processes through close coordination with the rest of the FP&A team and IT. This role will be supporting of the existing planning system as well as implementing FP&A technology as part of the Next Generation Financial Management program.
Execute the annual and multi-year planning processes, including documenting annual planning memo
Oversee the planning system
Complete quarterly management reporting and analysis for key financial measures used to support quarterly performance review meetings
Create materials to support the CFO for board meetings
Create earnings forecasting for all key financial measures and basis of accounting
Support efforts to execute on long-term earnings initiatives
Identify and drive actions to enhance GAAP, STAT and non-life earnings
Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve financial decisions
Support M&A activities where necessary
Lead and execute special projects
B.A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management
MBA, CPA or CFA highly desired
Minimum of 6 years
Financial services experience preferred.
GAAP and Statutory accounting
Modelling and financial analysis
Experience with Oracle/Hyperion Smartview preferred
Strong judgment and decision-making
Professional written and oral communication
Confident and articulate speaker and presenter
Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
