Job Description The Prospect Development Analyst reports to the Director of Prospect Development, and is primarily responsible for the identification and initial assessment of new prospects capable of contributing significant financial support to Boston College, as well as providing detailed research on previously identified prospects. The Prospect Development Analyst monitors a variety of online, electronic and printed sources, including relevant websites, government documents, newspapers, periodicals, screening data, and leads from development officers to identify and qualify new prospective donors, and to produce clear, concise profiles on key prospects as requested. As determined by the Director of Prospect Development, the Prospect Development Analyst may be assigned to work directly with specific development officers to provide research on their prospects and for related projects, and to work on special projects involving analysis of prospect data.
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
Prospect Development Analyst: $54,200 - $65,500 (1-3 years professional experience)
Sr. Prospect Development Analyst: $57,850 - $72,300 (3+ years professional experience)
Requirements This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years prospect research or other directly-related research experience, such as financial or legal research, and for the Senior level, 3+ years of prospect research or other directly-related research experience, such as financial or legal research. Also required are well-developed writing and research skills; standard business computing skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office; proficiency in gathering information from websites, online services and databases; and an ability to interpret, analyze, and summarize biographical and financial data. A sense of curiosity and an ability to work as a part of a cohesive team are also key prerequisites. This position involves work with highly confidential information and complete discretion is required.
