Working in collaboration with Department Manager, this position functions as the operational lead and coordinator between the HR Service Centers (3) and the department in support of the department's overall goals and mission.
The incumbent serves as the central coordinator for facilitating and improving the Department's human resources needs regarding academic, staff and graduate trainee personnel transactions, such as: recruitment, hiring/onboarding, merits, promotions, leaves, equity reviews, visas, compensation, benefits and terminations.
Works directly with HR Service Centers and with department unit managers to ensure review and authorization requirements of the department are met; provides background information to department leadership and delivers first line analysis of requests supporting department goals. Provides consultation for all employees to ensure overall compliance with University policies and procedures, recordkeeping and audit actions.
Serves as point of contact for cyclical central processing activities such as renewals, faculty bonuses, performance evaluations, and probationary date management. Staff engagement is a key component of this role.
Scope of department activities includes employees in clinical as well as in academic, research, and other focuses at campus sites across the UCSF system.
