Job Description: BASIC FUNCTION:
The Application Analyst is responsible for coordinating and implementing the support, maintenance, enhancement, and development of database driven applications which include the student administrative system and 3rd party software solutions for the University community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analysis and Tier 3 technical support for departmental administrative applications, specifically Ellucian Colleague.
- Provide technical support to ensure availability and reliability of administrative applications.
- Identify causes of reported issues, suggest solutions, or make appropriate referrals.
- Serve as liaison to business users to investigate requirements for new system functionality and change requests.
- Research and propose solutions by analyzing software documentation, best practices, data inputs/outputs to satisfy business requirements.
- Perform changes to application configurations, access and functionality in accordance with University change management practices.
- Develop and execute test plans for delivered modifications.
- Support efforts to ensure data quality within administrative applications.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot interfaces between applications.
- Plan and perform application upgrades.
- Develop and distribute ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Document technical procedures and processes.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop reports/exports utilizing enterprise applications, the enterprise data warehouse, and BI tools in support of departmental operations and strategic reporting efforts.
- Work alongside developers to assist with the development and testing of data models and ETL processes to support BI reporting, the University data marts and enterprise data warehouse.
- Understand University business processes and how those processes relate to analytical reporting
- Work alongside a blended project team to implement enterprise application software.
- Participate in all efforts of the Office of Information Technologies to enhance the effective use of technology at the University.
- Perform such other related duties that may be assigned.

Job Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field is preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A minimum of two years professional experience in application administration, back end technical support, data analytics or business analysis is required.
Demonstrate the ability to:
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Work effectively with administrative users, Information Technologies staff members, and outside consultants.
- Present excellent oral and written communication skills at both the technical and non-technical levels.
- Work effectively as a team member or independently as appropriate
- Organize and prioritize multiple projects with the ability to meet scheduled deadlines.

- Act responsibly by following issues through to resolution.
- Provide reliable and dependable service during key projects and at critical times of the University calendar.
Demonstrated skills are required in:
- Microsoft Office, Office 365 and Windows operating systems
- SQL query
- Relational database / table design and structures
- Query and reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ellucian Colleague student information system
- MS SQL Server SSMS, SSIS
- Programming technologies such as Java, HTML, XML, Python
